SML CHARITY HOME TOUR / October 11-13, 2024

Mission Statement

The Charity Home Tour’s mission is to raise awareness of and funds for charities in the Smith Mountain Lake region, while promoting area businesses and building community relationships.

Mission Objectives

  • Using only volunteers, organize and administer a Tour that invites guests to tour beautiful and interesting SML Homes.

  • Raise funds through Tour patrons, business sponsors, and tickets sales.

  • Distribute the proceeds amongst the participating charities who provide needed services to deserving people.

THE FOGARTY HOME

Located in Moneta, the Fogarty Home is built in the Modern Prairie style with deep eaves, a low-pitched roof, and large windows.  This 4,000 square foot home has four bedrooms, four full baths, and two ½ baths.  Natural light floods the main floor living areas.  The primary bedroom suite has excellent lake views, and the adjoining bathroom features back-to-back vanities, heated floors, and beautiful tile.

The family calls the second-floor Super Hero-themed kids’ area “The Fun Zone;” it features two identical guest rooms with unique décor and balconies spanning the entire 2nd floor.

On the lower level, an additional entertainment area is open to the lake with a roll-up garage door, pool table, corn hole, outdoor shower, and more.  A mix of reclaimed wood, stamped concrete floors, and modern railings give the home a rustic feel that merges beautifully with the Modern Prairie architecture.
